Bananatella Bread

Banana + Nutella= Bananatella… Oh my! This recipe is adapted from a wonderful banana bread recipe I found on I just elevated it to whole new level by adding Nutella. This recipe is equally as delicious with chocolate chips added into the batter instead of Nutella. It’s super moist and just melts in your mouth. Perfect for breakfast or for dessert or  for a snack or for something to grab a slice of on your way to the fridge (you get the point.)

Bananatella Bread (adapted from the Banana Banana Bread recipe by Shelley Albeluhn):

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup butter

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

2 1/2 cups (4 1/2 to 5 bananas) mashed overripe bananas

1/3 cup Nutella

  1. Preheat your oven to 350˚F and butter a 9×5 in loaf pan.
  2. Mash the bananas and set aside.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar together.
  4. Add the eggs and mix until well blended.
  5. Add the bananas and whisk until thoroughly combined.
  6. Add the flour, baking soda and salt to the banana mixture and mix until just combined.
  7. Pour your batter into your prepared pan.
  8. Over the top, in a straight line, pour the Nutella (it might be a bit easier to mix in by warming it in a microwave for about 30-45 seconds.)
  9. With a chopstick or another long thin utensil, swirl the Nutella into the batter making sure you mix in all directions so the Nutella doesn’t just stay on the top.
  10. Bake for 60-65 min or until a toothpick comes out more or less clean (a little Nutella might stick to it).
  11. Cool it in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes then turn it out on a wire rack.
  12. Enjoy!
